A$AP Rocky was acquitted of all firearm assault charges by a Los Angeles jury on Tuesday (February 18).  Immediately after the verdict was read, the Grammy-nominated rapper jumped over the gallery wall and hugged his longtime partner and mother to his two children, Rihanna, while many people in the courtroom applauded the acquittal. The rapper addressed the judge and jurors as they left, telling them, “Thank you guys for saving my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you, your honor.” During the 13-day trial, Rocky claimed that he used a prop gun to shoot blanks during an altercation in Hollywood with his former friend A$AP Relli. Despite being accused of brandishing a Glock semiautomatic firearm and firing at Relli, Rocky’s defense argued they were only “warning shots” fired from a prop gun in order to protect another A$AP Mob member, which set up conflicting narratives of the incident in the closely watched trial.
