Liam Neeson is an aging boxer working as hired muscle for a crime boss, played by Ron Perlman.  As his health deteriorates, he tries to reconnect with his family and starts making riskier decisions in an attempt to make amends and ease his conscience.

When the Germans start bombing London in World War II, Saoirse Ronan sends her 9-year-old son to safety.  But after the kid defiantly leaves the English countryside and tries to return to his mom, she desperately starts searching for her missing son.
