1.  “Monkey Man”  (R)  Trailer

An action thriller that was co-written, directed by, and stars Dev Patel from “Slumdog Millionaire”. 

It’s being compared to “John Wick” for its brutal fight scenes.  Patel works anonymously in an underground fight club in Mumbai, wearing a gorilla mask and letting the more popular fighters beat the crap out of him.

But he’s secretly on a quest for revenge against the people who murdered his mother when he was a kid.

2.  “The First Omen”  (R)  Trailer

This is a prequel to the 1976 original and the sixth movie in the “Omen” franchise.  All the other movies are available on Hulu if anyone desperately needs a refresher.

British actress Nell Tiger Free is an American woman sent to work at an orphanage in Rome where she uncovers a conspiracy to bring about the birth to the Anti-Christ.  Ralph Ineson plays Father Brennan.  “Omen” fans know him as the priest who tried to warn Damien’s adoptive parents in the original movie.  Bill Nighy is also in it.

“Game of Thrones” fans may remember Nell as Cersei’s daughter Myrcella Baratheon.   And the guy who plays Father Brennan was the Ironborn raider who betrays Theon Greyjoy to Ramsay Bolton at Winterfell.
